The Sonder Center
Our Mission
There is a version of every caregiver that the world rarely sees.
The one who coordinates appointments, advocates for services, navigates complex systems, manages uncertainty, celebrates small victories, absorbs disappointments, and continues showing up day after day because someone they love depends on them.
The one who carries so much for others that they often forget how to care for themselves.
The Sonder Center was created for that person.
Born from lived experience, The Sonder Center exists because too many families navigating disability are left to carry extraordinary responsibilities with limited support, fragmented resources, and few opportunities to rest and restore. We believe caregivers deserve more than survival. They deserve to be seen, supported, and surrounded by a community that understands their journey.
Through emotional wellness support, respite opportunities, enrichment experiences, resource navigation, and meaningful connection, we help strengthen the people who spend their lives strengthening others, while creating opportunities for individuals with special needs to experience belonging, joy, and enrichment.
At its core, The Sonder Center exists to end isolation for families navigating disability; by anchoring caregivers, empowering individuals with special needs, and helping transform fragmented systems into pathways of dignity, access, and lifelong belonging.
Because when caregivers are supported, families are strengthened. When families are strengthened, communities flourish.
Because connection, community and thriving should be a part of every care plan.
